Sikh bodies hold protest, demand inclusion of Punjabi Language at all levels

All the participants were demanding immediate implementation of Punjabi language as a compulsory subject and warned of an agitation if the demand not met with.

A strong protest was held today by various Sikh organizations at National Highway Digiana Ashram, Jammu and was demanding inclusion of Punjabi language at all levels in the state.

While addressing the people and the media, president Shiromani Akali Dal J&K,  S.Dayal Singh Wazir said that the history of Sikhs is the history of sacrifice which the Sikhs have contributed for the entire country and Sikhs will not tolerate injustice to its own people and he further condemned the state government for its step motherly treatment to the Punjabi language while making other regional languages compulsory.

Sikh organizations which participated in the protest includes; Shiromani Akali Dal, Sikh United Fronf Bhai Kanhiya Nishkam Sewa Society, All India Sikh Students Federation, Sikh Welfare Society and Sikh Naujwan.
