United Sikh Council asks CM to implement minority commission in J&K


JAMMU: Kuldeep Singh, Chairman United Sikh Council and UDP on Tuesday asked the Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti to give minority status to the Sikhs in the State for their socio-economic upliftment.

Expressing his concern over the discrimination and negligence of various governments in resolving the issues faced by the community ever since the turmoil erupted in the State, Kuldeep said this issue was raised by Sikhs in the State but it is a sheer bad luck of theirs that it has not been approved despite they raised the voice collectively against this discrimination.

He said after many demonstrations the government finally approved Punjabi as part of the syllabus in J&K State.

Like solving this issue, he said Sikh community pins hope that Chief Minister will address the issue of implentation of minority commission in Jammu and Kashmir State.

Balbir Singh, Makhan Singh, H.S Raina, Manjeet Singh, Amarjeet Singh, Ravinder Singh, Satpal Singh, Harmeet Singh, Mohinder Pal Singh, Amarpreet Singh, Paramjeet Singh, Gurpreet Singh Nishkami, Jagandeep Singh and Gurjeet Singh were also present in the press conference.
