Subject: Bringing Mr. Tenzin Gawa Zangpo, General Secretary of DNC-D, under the observation of International Red Cross Society.

Respected Sir,

Human Rights Defense International is an organization committed to the cause of Indian Diaspora. We are concerned about Bhutanese Refugees and have organized various events in the support of Bhutanese Refugees. We are thankful to the International Red Cross Society for supporting the cause of Bhutanese Refugees.

Mr. Karma Chhoejay, has informed us about the fate of Mr. Tenzil Gawa Zangpo, General Secretary of DNC-D. It seems that Mr. Tenzil Gawa Zangpo, who is presently reported to be in the custody of Bhutanese authorities and is not getting fair trial in Bhutan. His relatives and well wishers are not being allowed to meet him and the appropriate legal assistance is not being provided to him.

As the delegation of International Red Cross Committee is visiting Bhutan jails twice a year to examine the health and other welfare of the prisoners, we request your good office to bring Mr. Tenzil Gawa Zangpo under the observation of International Red Cross Committee and ensure the well being of Mr. Zangpo.

We also request your good office to impress upon the Government of Bhutan to facilitate a meeting of the family members of Mr. Zangpo with him. We also request your good office to allow any independent Human Rights Organization of Bhutan or any other neighboring country to meet Mr. Zangpo to know about his situation.

For this support of yours, we shall always be obliged.

For Human Rights Defense International
