HRDI Appeal for Constitution of a Judicial Commission Consisting of Hindu Members and Representatives of Pakistan’s Leading Human Rights NGO to Probe into the Matter of Kidnapping of Rinal Kumari and Forceful Conversion of Hindus Going on Pakistan

Hon’ble High Commissioner,                                                                       Date: 12th April, 2012

High Commission of Pakistan,

New Delhi.

Subject: Appeal for constitution of judicial commission consisting of Hindu members and representatives of Pakistan’s leading Human Rights NGO to probe into the matter of kidnapping of Rinal Kumari and forceful conversions of Hindus going on in Pakistan.

Your Excellency,

This is in regard of the rampant kidnapping, killing and forceful conversions of Hindus that are going on in Pakistan. Recently, a Hindu girl, Rinkal Kumari of Mirpur Mathelo town, Sindh, Paksitan was abducted and forcibly converted to Islam. At 4pm on February 24, 2012 Mian Aslam, Hassam Kalhore, Naveed Shah, Mehfooz Shah and three other persons kidnapped the 17-year-old girl from her house at gunpoint. Even the Supreme Court of Pakistan did not allow Salchani Bai, the mother of Rinkal Kumari, to see her daughter despite her plea and instead she has been initially given to Police in place of Darul Amaan (shelter Home). Advocate Mr Qadir Khan Mandokhel, her lawyer, has been reporting the situation under which the kidnappers are threatening to kill them.

Human Rights Defense International strongly condemns such ghastly and brutal attack on human rights in Pakistan as evidenced in the case of this young Hindu girl. Article 36 of the law in Pakistan allows minorities to live without any fear but forced conversions are taking place rampantly in and around Sindh. Seven millions Hindus have been living in Sindh for centuries. Your Former Federal Minister Amar Lal has been on record that during the last nine years, 2,700 girls have been converted from Hinduism to Islam. Similarly, in the last few months 47 boys have been forced to convert to Islam just from Dherki area of Sindh.

The incident that took place in 2011 in Chak, Sindh, is still in our fresh memory where three Hindus brutally had been killed. Why Sindh Hindus are being threatened and killed? Are they not citizens of Pakistan? Why targeting a human race and deny even basic human rights to breathe in freely? HRDI strongly demands answers and solutions for all these evident and omnipresent questions.

The most important organ of the country “Judiciary” has collapsed in Pakistan with police, lawyers and judges turning into the survival force and shield for the feudal lords, corrupt politicians, extremist forces and oppressors.

HRDI strongly condemns this unjust violation of human rights in Pakistan and is aghast at the atrocities that are being committed on Pakistani Hindus who deserve equality of rights as much as other citizens of the country deserve them.

HRDI sincerely appeals for constitution of a judicial commission consisting of Hindu members and also representatives of Pakistan’s leading Human Rights NGO which should be constituted to probe the matter and to come up with a solution to reinstate Pakistani Hindus.

Thanking You.

Yours sincerely,

Rajesh Gogna,

(Secretary General)
